How has warfare in Iraq and Afghanistan affected the today’s America?  After having documented the brutalities of war up close for many years, Peter Van Agtmael decided to point his camera towards his homeland to look at the damage these conflicts has inflicted on the American society.  In an exclusive lecture at the DOK:17, Agtmael will tell his story, both about his own experiences in the warzones and about how the deep wounds of two wars still affect America.

Peter van Agtmael (b. 1981) is a member of the prestigious photo agency Magnum and is one of the world's most sought after photojournalists. He has just published his second book, Buzzing at the Sill, about the causal effects of America’s warfare abroad the last ten years.
