LECTURE - HOUSE OF LITERATURE -  THURSDAY 8th OF JUNE  2030

Technical perfection and humanism are key to this Danish photographers work. With work spanning Portugal, South Africa, Hungary and Cuba, Joakim Eskildsen always manages to make the the people he meets the focus of his work. His images shine a spotlight on the individuals behind news statistics. He communicates through multiple formats and has made critically acclaimed exhibitions and books since 1995. Now Eskildsen is coming to Dok17 to talk about the process behind his work.

Joakim Eskildsen (b. 1971) trained with the Royal Court photographer Mrs. Rigmor Mydtskov before attending the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, where he learned the craft of bookmaking with Jyrki Parantainen and Pentti Sammallahti. He is currently producing three photobook projects and exhibitions: American Realities, Cuban Evolution, and Home Works. Eskildsen lives and works in Berlin.
